This century-old restaurant opened its doors in 1892 on the emblematic Plaça Independència in Girona’s beautiful city centre. The Casa Marieta dining room is divided into five separate areas, each with a unique décor reflected in its name: Mirall, Pedrera, Roma, Coberta and Costa. Also on display are photographs of Girona from the early 20th century, as well as typical tools and implements from old Catalan farmhouses.
Casa Marieta offers guests traditional seasonal cuisine. The restaurant boasts an extensive menu with over 40 seasonal dishes and daily specials along with homemade desserts. Casa Marieta’s cellar is located on the ground floor of the restaurant; with little light, a porous ceramic floor, cool walls and wooden shelves to distribute the bottles individually, the cellar is the ideal place for aging and storing wines. This space makes it possible to offer guests a selection of reds, whites, pinks and reserves together with a selection of champagnes and cavas.
